About porcelain veneers
Veneers are 0.3–0.7 mm porcelain shells bonded to the front of your teeth. They can close small gaps, lengthen worn edges and create an even, natural-looking shade. Most smile makeovers involve 6–10 upper teeth. For smaller changes, composite bonding (from $450 per tooth) is a quicker, more conservative option.
Who it's for
- Small gaps, worn or chipped edges, or uneven tooth shapes
- Deep stains that whitening can't lift
- Patients with healthy teeth and gums who don't need orthodontic movement
- Smaller changes may suit composite bonding (from $450 per tooth) instead

- A natural-looking, even shade and shape
- Stain-resistant porcelain
- Test drive your new smile before anything is prepared
- Typically last 10–15 years or more with good care

Recovery & aftercare
Avoid biting very hard things (ice, pens, nutshells) with your front teeth, and wear a night guard if you grind. With good care, porcelain veneers typically last 10–15 years or more.
- Recovery
- No downtime; some cold sensitivity for a few days
Aftercare tips
- Avoid biting very hard things (ice, pens, nutshells) with your front teeth
- Wear a night guard if you grind your teeth
- Brush and floss as normal; porcelain resists stains
- Keep up your 6-monthly check-ups
Possible side effects
- Preparing a tooth for a veneer is not reversible.
- Some cold sensitivity for a few days after fitting is common.
- Veneers can chip with heavy biting forces or grinding; a night guard helps protect them.

Porcelain veneers: your questions
How much do porcelain veneers cost?
$1,250–$1,650 per tooth. Composite bonding is from $450 per tooth. Most smile makeovers involve 6–10 upper teeth, and treatment over $1,000 can be financed at 0% for 12 months, subject to approval.
How many visits do veneers take?
Two main visits about 3 weeks apart: a preparation visit, when you get temporaries, and a fitting visit. We see you again two weeks later to check your bite.
Can I see what veneers will look like first?
Yes. We design your smile digitally and can show you a trial "test drive" in your mouth before anything is prepared.
How long do porcelain veneers last?
With good care, porcelain veneers typically last 10–15 years or more.
Are veneers or bonding better for me?
Bonding (from $450 per tooth) is quicker and more conservative for small chips and gaps; porcelain veneers last longer and suit bigger changes in shape and shade. Your free consultation covers both.
