About gum treatment & deep clean
If your gums bleed, feel puffy or have pockets deeper than 4 mm, a regular cleaning can't reach the bacteria below the gumline. A deep clean removes tartar from the root surfaces so your gums can tighten and heal. Laser gum therapy can be added for deeper pockets, with less bleeding and faster healing.

Gum treatment & deep clean: your questions
How much does a deep clean cost?
$240–$380 per quadrant (a quarter of the mouth), with an optional laser add-on of $95 per quadrant. PPO plans typically cover 80% as basic treatment.
How many visits does gum treatment take?
We numb and treat one side of the mouth at a time in a 60–90 minute visit, so most patients need two visits, then a re-check in 6–8 weeks.
What is the difference between a cleaning and a deep clean?
A regular cleaning removes plaque and tartar above the gumline. A deep clean reaches the root surfaces below the gumline, where bacteria cause gum disease.
What happens after a deep clean?
We re-measure your gums in 6–8 weeks, then see you every 3–4 months for gum maintenance cleanings ($165 per visit).
Is a deep clean painful?
We numb each area first, and many patients choose nitrous oxide ($75) or noise-cancelling headphones. Gums can be tender for a few days afterwards.
